CHARACTERISTIC
SmartSensor HDTM is 24 GHz Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar. It has been designed with the use of the latest HD technology (High-definition Detection) so it is able to constantly collect data concerning traffic for long-term ITS monitoring (Intelligent Transportation Systems). Patented Digital Wave Radar IITM carries out measurements of many diverse values connected with traffic.

The radar measures such values as:

- traffic intensity
- average and momentary speed of vehicles,
- 85-percentage speed percentile,
- average speed changes,
- average distances between vehicles,
- occupancy of particular road lanes,
- vehicles classification.

The area of detection covers 75 metres. Detection of up to 10 lanes simultaneously.



SmartSensor HD provides precise data on the speed of particular vehicles with accuracy to 6 km/h and classifies vehicles with high accuracy. It works despite protective barriers and lanes separating traffic direction. It observes all vehicles being in the field of vision. It detects partially invisible vehicles with extreme precision. Unlike other radar sensors and measurement technologies, SmartSensor HD correctly detects and classifies vehicles that change lanes. The effect of "losing" or double registration does not take place. Double radar has been used to ensure measurements that are more precise. It determines vehicle speed by measuring the delay between two beams. The same method is applied to specify driving direction.

SmartSensor HD is easy to install and has been equipped with a simple interface enabling precise tuning. Measurement sensor configuration does not affect detection - it only concerns the scope of reporting. Patented configuration process and simple HD ManagerTM software enables automatic detection of traffic lanes and immediately delivers visual confirmation of correct settings. This unique method of automatic configuration together with the software is dedicated for Pocket PC®, palmtops and laptops.

Double communication ports enable simultaneous integration of SmartSensor HD with other systems and installation to an existing or planned radar network.
