Gold Medal during POLEKO 2008 International Trade Fair in Poznan

During the International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection POLEKO 2008, the Enviro 151 system won recognition of the experts committee who awarded it with the Golden Medal.

At present, traffic noise and air pollution constitute dominating threats within the confines of cities and roads. They have a negative influence on the health as well as work and leisure conditions; therefore, they are the most important factors deciding on the comfort of life.

The ENVIRO 151 station has been designed for constant and long-term registration of noise level, traffic intensity and environmental conditions: temperature, air humidity, atmospheric pressure, speed and direction of wind as well as rainfall. Moreover, the station can be equipped with a module for air quality parameters measurement (optional). Supporting the measurement data with AUDIO and VIDEO signal registration is another advantage of the station.

Modular construction of the station enables free configuration adjusted to individual needs of a particular customer. The station can constitute either a mobile measuring system installed in a car equipped with pneumatically raised pole integrated with the vehicle, or a fixed system assembled in a given spot.

Acoustic indicators registration is carried out with the use of class 1 noise level measuring instrument. Traffic intensity measurement is conducted with the help of a radar device. Thanks to the unique method of measuring, it is not necessary to install any instruments within road lanes (as opposed to other solutions like inductive loops), which is undoubtedly an advantage. At the same time, resistance to difficult weather conditions (in particular fogs and snowfalls) ensures considerable advantage over video detection type solutions. It is worth pointing out the possibility of traffic parameters measurement on 10 road lanes simultaneously together with the classification of vehicles and measurement of their speed.

The software which steers the station has been based on the WWW technology, which allows operators to control the station from any computer or pocket PC equipped with an Internet browser. Communication can be established through a radio Wi-Fi connection, GPRS, DSL, LAN. Data transmission between the station and a steering computer is carried out through an encoded channel.

The software used for data collection enables free configuration of the transmitted information to ensure transmission of the necessary minimum with the use of GPRS and taking into account costs reduction. If such is the case, the data are downloaded periodically with the help of a Wi-Fi wireless or LAN connection. Power supply to the station and all devices connected to it comes from an internal feeder, which can draw energy from the 220 V power grid, solar cells, battery, fuel cells or a street lighting lamp.

The steering program enables:
- programming of a measurement session,
- browsing through measurement data registered by the station,
- downloading measurement data from a hard drive to a laptop computer or server,
- copying measurement data to a carrier connected to the station's USB interface (hard drive or FLASH memory card).

Together with measurement data, images from the camera and acoustic signals from the measuring field of the noise-measuring instrument are registered. Such pieces of information can serve to easily identify events that have taken place during the measurement process. Therefore, it is later possible to separate potential interferences of measured parameters from data analysis. The system of measurement data presentation enables easy browsing through all of the gathered information and data. These details can be directly downloaded from the station, or from a data server which, at the customer's request, can be programmed to download the data automatically as well as store and distribute them from one or several measuring stations forming a monitoring network on a particular area.
